STREET SOUTH, RICHMOND. INFLUENCES FROM FRENCH COUNTRY COTTAGES

Arranged in 3 wings; Living, Bedrooms,
Garaging, this modest sized home on a small lifestyle block is sited for maximum sun and
panoramic views over the Waimea plains. Amended from an earlier version featuring parapet
gable end roofs, the exterior styling is influenced by the traditional country cottages
and farm buildings of central and northern France, yet built of modern lightweight
materials for economy, comfort and low maintenance.

The completed house

Materials have been chosen for economy
and simplicity and durability while still imparting some of the spirit of the buildings it
emulates. The roof is now Zincalume Corrugated. Walls are stucco on rigid backing with a
20mm vented cavity. Windows feature planted EPS profiles for sills and lintels painted a
contrasting colour. Joinery is Aluminium in silver powdercoat.
