Building with Pallets - RAEH Project (Retrofit Affordable Eco Habitat) |
|
A partly finished 15m2 Wwoofer accommodation unit at an undisclosed location, this solution uses valuable subfloor space under a pole home to provide a safe, comfortable and cheap solution for those needing additional room. All floor and wall panels were prefabricated using pine pallets, left over wool insulation and carpet uplifts for lining with a clay slip paint finish. Some Aqualine Gib board was also used for as lining in wet areas. Updates as progress evolves. All up projected cost including labour for prefab panels; approx. $5,000.
